Rancho Mission Viejo residents are never at a loss for things to do. From nature hikes, mixers, live music, and rodeos, The Ranch spirit is alive and well. Our annual Field Festival, now in its 3rd year, is the perfect example. Every April, neighbors and friends gather together to enjoy family-friendly activities, refreshments, music, arts and crafts, adventure parks, and more. There are always a few surprises in store, so you’ll just have to attend to see what we’re cooking up.
Fall is all about bringing the community together to share in the traditions that make this season special. This October marks the 4th year of our annual Harvest Fest at Esencia, It’s when we celebrate the cooler weather and family traditions with a pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving demonstrations, apple cider and appetizers, live music, games and activities, craft beer, trick-or-treating, and much more.
El Prado in Lights is a magical celebration of the holiday season. Every December, the winding pathways to El Prado (Sendero’s community core) are decorated with lights to create a dazzling luminescent ambiance. New and future residents gather together to be serenaded by carolers, sip on hot cocoa and eggnog, decorate ornaments, and donate toys for underserved children. This December will mark the 4th year of El Prado in Lights.
WestFest is a month-long celebration of Western-inspired activities held every August (ongoing for 4 years), culminating with one of the biggest events of the year—the RMV Rodeo. Swing by Sendero Field to enjoy bands, ranch-style BBQ and food trucks, craft beer, mechanical bulls, line dancing, and more.
The Reserve is a 21,000-acre nature preserve located next to Esencia. This spacious land is intended for recreational, ecological, scientific, and conservational use. The Reserve hosts public events like docent-led hikes, tours, astronomy nights, animal lectures, and bird-watching tours.
Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Rancho Mission Viejo rodeo before the best of the best make their way to South Orange County for this adrenaline-pumping annual event. Start off the morning with a down-home breakfast while discovering the rich history of The Ranch land and community. Then get an up close and personal demonstration of Team Roping, one of the most thrilling competitions. Top it all off with a guided tour of the bullpens, led by a real Rancho Mission Viejo cowboy. You’ll be rodeo ready before the day is through.

Bring your little bunnies out for a morning of Easter fun on The Ranch. Outfitted with a pair of fluffy ears and a wicker basket, kids can race to collect colorful eggs scatted throughout the field. Work hand in hand with Mom or Dad to make a one-of-a-kind memento at the craft station. And meet the Easter Bunny for a hug or high-five worthy of a photo op.
