East Coast Transplants and New Rienda Homeowners “Can’t Believe a Place like The Ranch Exists”

Rancho Mission Viejo, CA (September 27, 2024) - It was coming down to the wire. Jeanetta and Luke Skorzewski were on the last day of a weeklong trip from New York to search for a new home in Orange County.

The couple had toured various cities in Orange County in 2020 after a job promotion prompted a move cross-country. But when they toured the Village of Esencia in Rancho Mission Viejo, it just clicked.

“It was like nothing we’d ever seen,” Jeanetta said. “We immediately fell in love with the home, the neighborhood and the community overall.”

The Skorzewski’s acted quickly and, “It has turned out to be the best decision we’ve ever made,” said Jeanetta. She and her family moved into a single-family home in the Aria neighborhood of Esencia in 2021. Since then, the family has ensconced itself in The Ranch lifestyle.

“There is so much community space,” said Jeanetta. “We recently had a picnic with friends by Canyon Coffee, play pickleball with our neighbors and Luke plays basketball at the Pavilion community center. Our quality of life is so much better. I’ll pay that Sunshine Tax anytime.”

Although the couple was happy in their Esencia home, they have a large extended family that likes to visit. So, when single-family homes in Trumark Homes’ Dahlia neighborhood in the new Village of Rienda became available last year, the Skorzewski’s again moved quickly.

“Our home in Rienda is about 500 square feet larger so when family recently came to visit, we were so glad to have the extra space,” said Jeanetta.

Jeanetta’s parents loved the community so much, too, that they ended up buying a condo on The Ranch, where they will split their time between California and the East Coast.

The Skorzewski’s moved into their new home in Rienda last December and have quickly blended in.

“We moved just in time to throw a New Year’s Eve party, which several neighbors joined for,” Jeanetta said. “The neighborly comradery is one of the best parts of the living on The Ranch.”

At times, the New York transplant admits sometimes her change in fortune can be difficult to process.“

People from all over the world dream of living in California,” Jeanetta said. “I sometimes have to pinch myself when I’m driving home, and I look at the views and the wonderful people. Our quality of life has gone way up. I can’t even believe a place like The Ranch exists.”
