Residents all across The Ranch have begun decorating with care, and the spirit of the holidays has been filling the air!
To kick off the season in style, we invited Ranch residents out for a special evening designed to inspire and connect.
At our fourth annual El Prado in Lights and Menorah Lighting extravaganza, residents spent an evening mingling in our very own winter wonderland, filled with holiday-themed activities, crafts, and treats.
As the event began, residents meandered through El Prado and enjoyed the company of close friends and loved ones.
The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo also set up their own crafting station, complete with the fixings to make your own mistletoe from locally-sourced ingredients.
As the sun set on The Ranch, residents delighted in a wide variety of holiday entertainment, from The Rancho Mission Viejo Singers Company to stilt walking, juggling and even close-up magic!
At the end of the performances, our very own three snow machines surprised children and parents alike and covered El Prado in a magical, white blanket.
To keep warm and full as the evening grew colder, residents sipped on piping hot chocolate and snacked on delicious donuts and popcorn. The tasty treats were such a hit, we ended up serving 2,970 donuts and more than 790 cups of hot chocolate.
But, through all the fun and festivity, it’s important to remember what the holidays are really about: giving.
That’s why we are so excited that our toy drive, set up to support Spark of Love, was a huge success. By the end of the night, our toy collection boxes were completely full. The firefighters of Spark of Love were able to collect about 60 pounds of toys!
It’s safe to say, El Prado in Lights was a blast! Here are a few, fun facts about this year’s event:
- 350 bags of popcorn served
- 990 boats of donuts served (or 2,970 donuts total!)
- 790 cups of hot chocolate served
- 750 residents in attendance
- 60 pounds of toys donated to Spark of Love
Thank you to all our wonderful residents who attended this year’s El Prado in Lights celebration. We hope you keep the spirit of the holidays going and cannot wait to see you again next year!
