Rancho Mission Viejo’s Grand Opening How-To Guide

Rancho Mission Viejo is thrilled to announce its official Grand Opening on June 29th and 30th. Attendees will get an exclusive look at South Orange County’s highly anticipated community on a historic 23,000-acre ranch. Not only will it be the first the public has seen of the Village of Sendero and its 55+ enclave of Gavilán, but it will also be the first time new homebuyers will step foot into the models for each of our 11 Neighborhoods.

Join us Saturday or Sunday from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. to enjoy a variety of activities from tours of the new models and clubhouses to food trucks, music and more. The Rancho Mission Viejo Grand Opening will be sure to have something for everyone.

Now, let’s get down to the details.

How do I get there?

Exit the I-5 at Crown Valley Parkway to avoid the Caltrans construction on the Ortega/I-5 on and off ramps. Go east. At Antonio Parkway turn right and head south. Before Ortega, turn left at the signed entry.

Where should I park?
All attendees will need to park off-site on the corner of Antonio and Ortega, at Sendero’s future retail site. Guests should be aware that there won’t be parking available or permitted within the community itself.

Once parked, shuttles will transport you around the village and to the various model home stops. We expect a strong attendance, and we’re planning accordingly with our convenient shuttle service. Parking is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

There will be 2 shuttle routes:

  • One for Sendero’s all-age Neighborhoods that will also stop at The Outpost recreational area & El Prado, at the heart of the village.
  • There will be a second shuttle that goes exclusively to the Gavilán Neighborhoods and the Hacienda clubhouse.

Please note both shuttles will stop at Sendero’s El Prado and the Guest House, our welcome center; however, the Sendero shuttle is the only way to see The Outpost. Be sure to look for that shuttle if you decide to visit The Outpost later in your trip.

What should I expect?
We suggest starting your day at the Guest House, where you can get all the details about the different Neighborhoods, as well as the endless list of things to do at The Ranch. From there, explore the following as you desire:

  • Tour model homes at the 11 different Neighborhoods.
  • Check out our village core, El Prado.
  • Discover the two clubhouses – Sendero’s Ranch House and the Hacienda at Gavilán.
  • Explore The Outpost recreational area.

Guests will also be able to take advantage of the Rancho Mission Viejo’s outdoor tent with complementary bottled water, chairs to rest and two conveniently located restrooms.

What type of activities will be there?
At Rancho Mission Viejo, living on The Ranch is a way of life that allows you to have greater access to nature, and the outdoors is just as important as the stunning interiors of the homes.

In keeping with this spirit, there will be an Organic Gardening exhibit from Farmer D and a native plant expo from the Tree Of Life Nursery on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. For more details, click to read our blog on Farmer D & Tree of Life Nursery.

Will there be food?
Yes! We are bringing you a variety of highly sought after, gourmet, culinary trucks. These high-end vendors will be at El Prado from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. to offer a taste of food on The Ranch with unique twists. The line up of for-purchase culinary trucks include:
